Quick Start Guide: Helper App

Step 1: Download the App

Select your device and download the app:

Step 2: Open the App and Validate

Once the app is downloaded, open it and complete the validation process. This ensures your account is active and ready for use.

Step 3: Main Screen After Validation

Once validated, the main screen of the app should look like this:

The important bit is the status, mentioning you can book cancellation slots.

Status: Cannot Book Slots?

If you're unable to validate, there could be a lot of reasons behind why, some of them:
1. If you're taking your first driving test, you have not completed 6 months on the learners license or not finished your 12 lessons yet (or 6 lessons in case of Reduced EDT).
2. If you're trying to book a retest, there is a cooloff period of 15 days which you need to pass before booking a cancellation slot and you have not passed 15 days yet.
3. Most accounts over 2 years old are not able to see cancellations, if this is the case you can wait for the app to validate your account. The app will notify you if your account is able to book cancellations or not. If it comes back with 'Automatic Validation Failed!' then you're out of luck and need to contact RSA to investigate your account and get cancellations enabled for your account.
4. If none is the case, then it is likely there may be no cancellations on the website at that given moment and the app was not able to see cancellations from your account. The app will validate your account in the background for the next 2 hrs and notify you when its completed. In case it fails then some condition (either mentioned here or not) applies to your account which does not allow you to book cancellations.

Step 4: Set Up Notifications

Set up notifications for the centers you're interested in to get updates about slot availability inside app settings.

(I'm also working on an auto-booking feature that can automatically book a slot based on your preferences. You can see some early settings in the app's Settings section. You are open to giving it a try. Its still being tested)

Step 5: Activate your app

The app should show you red warning with a button to ask me to activate your account when everything is setup. Click on it and I will activate your account. You can then start using the app to book slots.

Notes/Tips (Please Read):

1. Login into the Helper App is required every 2 hours. The app does everything in the background and keeps your session active, ensuring when a slot comes in, you can directly go on the app and book it.
2. Keep notifications ON for the Helper App.
3. Most accounts that are more than 2 yrs old are not able to see cancellations. If you're one of them, your best bet is to let the app validate for you and if it says after a while auto validation failed then you're out of luck.
4. If none is the case, then it is likely there may be no cancellations on the website at that given moment and the app was not able to see cancellations from your account. Keep clicking the validate button every 2 hrs and the app will try to validate your account after a while.
